Using your private socks proxy in browser Print

  • 716

Currently, no popular browsers support Socks proxies with authentication.

If you wish, you can take the authentication off, but we do not recommend this.

We recommend installing Maxthon, as it's the easiest browser to use a socks proxy on.

http://www.maxthon.com/mx5/mobile/?t=pc&m=main&p=1

After installation, type in about:config in the URL bar.
Search for "Proxy" in the search bar at the top.

Use Custom proxy setting --> Add
Then pick Socks5 as type.
Fill in the details. The username is root, and the port is 1080.
Then click OK, and Enable

If you don't already have a private Socks proxy, you can purchase one that's already set up from us.
Please keep in mind the proxy may not hide your IP on Java applications. Java has separate settings.
